SPRING HILL – An accident involving a motorcycle and an SUV resulted in a fatality Thursday morning in Spring Hill, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

A media alert states a 27-year-old Spring Hill man was riding a motorcycle westbound on Spring Hill Drive, east of Linden Drive. FHP reports the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed, “as well as weaving in and out of other traffic.

An SUV driven by a 27-year-old Spring Hill man was heading eastbound on Spring Hill Drive and stopped in the center turn lane of the roadway, which has four lanes and the center turn lane. When the SUV made a left turn to enter a Domino’s Pizza parking lot, it entered the path of the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist collided into the passenger side of the SUV and the impact caused both vehicles to rotate to a final rest at the parking lot entrance and roadway shoulder.

The motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital before dying from his injuries. The SUV driver did not report any injuries.
