TAMPA — No one knows whether the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will beat last year’s 4-12 record this season, but the team is promising that at least the food will be better.
The Buccaneers on Monday announced the organization is spending $7 million to overhaul the concession stands at Raymond James Stadium. The work, which is already underway, should be done by mid-July, before pre-season games begin in August.
As part of the project, all 14 concession stands in the main concourse will be replaced, as will the food preparation equipment. The Buccaneers say the new concession areas will be larger, better-equipped and feature a “fresh, new look.”
As part of the revamped concessions, the concession stands in both the east and west concourses will feature: Red Sail — Tampa’s Hot N’ Spicy Kitchen; Pizza Plank; the Taste of Tampa; the Galley; Desoto Deli; Bay Burger; and the Chicken Coup.
Also new this season, four new beverage stations, branded as the Swashbuckler Bar, in each corner of the stadium. The team says the new drink areas will offer craft beer, wine and frozen drinks.
Wagner Murray Architects, in Charlotte, N.C., will oversee the project. The company was in charge of interior design for the stadium and training facility. Aramark Sports and Entertainment will continue to be the team’s food, beverage and retail services partner.
