TARPON SPRINGS — What’s National Make a Difference Day?
Swing over to Tarpon Springs on Saturday afternoon 1–4 p.m. to find out. Sarah Tinsley and Eleni Lambrianos will fill in all the details, complete with lemonade and cookies.
The local 13-year-olds and their Awesome Lemonade Team are putting on the event for the sixth consecutive year and fourth straight in conjunction with National Make a Difference Day, created more than 20 years ago by USA Weekend Magazine and nonprofit organization Points of Light. The three-hour event will take place at 491 Riverside Drive.
This Saturday officially marks the day where thousands of projects will get under way across the country, all united in a goal of improving the lives of others.
Along with bringing together the community and enjoying some tasty snacks, Sarah and Eleni intend to give all proceeds to the Suncoast Animal League, a nonprofit, no-kill animal rescue agency.
According to an email from Charlotte Tinsley, Sarah’s mother, the event features a Lemonade Lounge for guests to enjoy their drinks or cookies. The lounge will offer a collection of colorful chairs and umbrellas set up by the team.
Given the beneficiary of the event, the Palm Harbor-based Suncoast Animal League, guests are encouraged to bring their dogs to the residence across Riverside Drive from Kreamer Bayou. An assortment of dog treats will also be available for sale.
