NEW PORT RICHEY — All hail the conquering hero: Army veteran Hartz Hartzell, an employee of the Pasco County Tax Collector’s Office since 2011, got a rousing welcome from co-workers at the Gulf Harbors tax collector’s office upon his return this week.
Hartzell, a member of Army Reserve Unit, 320 Military Police Company, just completed his third tour of combat duty, Greg Giordano explained as director of customer relations for the tax collector’s office. Hartzell is a 17-year member of the United States Army.
“Today, we welcomed back a hero,” Tax Collector Mike Fasano said, following a staff greeting at the Gulf Harbors office.
“We are proud to welcome back this fine individual and dedicated American patriot,” Fasano added. “We are proud that Hartz has chosen to serve his country through his military service. We are even more proud that he is part of our team here at the tax collector’s office.”
Hartzell is a beloved member of the Gulf Harbors staff, Giordano explained in a press release.
The tax collector’s office received the U.S. Department of Defense’s Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve office after Hartzell’s nomination, Giordano elaborated.
