WESLEY CHAPEL —The college offers continue to roll in for Wiregrass Ranch’s signal caller Rocco Becht, who is coming off of his first season starting for the Bulls.
Becht announced on Twitter Thursday morning that he had received an offer from Iowa State University. The offer for Becht becomes the third of the off-season for the sophomore quarterback, who had a stellar first season starting.
For the 2019 season, Becht completed 114-of-219 passes, 52 percent, for 1,985 yards. He averaged 180 yards per game and threw 21 touchdowns and just eight interceptions.
In what became Becht’s first season starting, he ended up guiding the Bulls to a record of 7-4 and to the Class 7A playoffs, eventually losing to Lakeland in the regional quarterfinals.
Son of former NFL tight end Anthony Becht. A first-round number 27 pick out of West Virginia in the 2000 NFL Draft, Anthony Becht played tight end for the New York Jets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, St. Louis Rams, Arizona Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs. He is now a college football analyst for ESPN and calls NFL preseason games for the New York Jets.
