The prep football season has started in Pasco County and several players have already impressed from Week 1 performances. We put together a list of players that have so far had standout performances from football teams in Pasco County.

Rocco Becht, QB, Wiregrass Ranch: If any quarterback in Pasco County has been put in a tough situation, it’s sophomore Rocco Becht. With starter Hunter Helton bolting for Armwood, Becht has stepped in admirably. The sophomore is the son of former NFL tight end turned TV football analyst Anthony Becht.

Trenton Hawks, QB, River Ridge: The youngest of the Hawks has impressed everyone early. His performance against a talented Crystal River team is a sign of things to come. Hawks went 13-of-22 for 153 yards and two touchdowns.

Angel Gonzales-Gordon, RB, Fivay: One of the most surprising performances of the early season came from Fivay running back Angel Gonzales-Gordon, who rushed for 180 yards in Fivay’s 44-23 win over Lecanto.

Tanner Boccabello, QB, Bishop McLaughlin: The Hurricanes are under a bit of a rebuilding season under first-year head coach Joe Vaughn, but one good building block is at the quarterback position. Tanner Boccabello had 150 yards passing in Week 1 on 9-of-13 passing.

Corneil McCrary, RB, Wiregrass Ranch: Wiregrass Ranch used to be a passing team before Hunter Helton and Noah Biglow both transferred to Armwood, in Hillsborough County. McCrary rushed for 93 yards and scored four touchdowns against Zephyrhills.
