Throughout the 2019-2020 regular season, we will do weekly rankings, news and notes on the prep basketball season in Pasco County. With the regular season now underway, we begin to take a closer look at the teams as we head into the month of February. Here’s a look at this week’s Top 5 Pasco County Prep Basketball Poll.


1. Wesley Chapel: The Wildcats are 18-2 and only two losses are to Belton and Eustis.

2. Fivay: The Falcons are sitting at 12-3 and only three losses are to Lecanto, Bishop McLaughlin and Land O’ Lakes.

3. Bishop McLaughlin: The Hurricanes are 10-7, but have remained one of the more talented clubs in the county.

4. Mitchell: Now at 11-6, the Mustangs are started to hit their stride heading into districts.

5. River Ridge: After starting 10-4, the Royal Knights have dropped four straight games and now sit at 10-8.


1. Anclote: The Sharks made a statement last week when they dominated Wesley Chapel in a 70-52 win.

2. Wesley Chapel: The Wildcats still have one of the better teams in the county, but lost to a very good Sharks club last week.

3. Sunlake: Sunlake enters the second half of the season with a record of 10-5 and remains a contender to make the postseason.

4. Land O’ Lakes: The Gators are in a bit of a lull, as they have lost three of their last five games.

5. Mitchell: The Mustangs play one of the toughest schedules amongst any team in Pasco County and sit at 7-7 under the watch of Jason Vetter.
