NEW PORT RICHEY — Section of two roads in the city will be down to one lane Aug. 27 to allow street work, according to the city.
The northbound lane of River Road will be closed Tuesday from Main Street to Acorn Street. The closure will allow street improvements and paving by the developer of Main Street Landing.
Flaggers will be in place to direct traffic during the duration of the street work.
In addition on Aug. 27, the south side of the intersection along Massachusetts Avenue at Adams Street will be closed for approximately 24 hours.
A detour will be in place beginning Tuesday for the duration of the improvements for traffic traveling northbound on Adams Street, the city announced. Massachusetts Avenue will be reduced to one lane for eastbound and westbound traffic so motorists traveling in the area should expect delays.
The city is taking steps to decrease the negative impact of the lane closures on motorists and people living in the area, it said in a news release.
