No one was injured in a crash Thursday morning between a Pasco Schools bus and a dump truck in the Wesley Chapel area, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The bus was eastbound on Overpass Road and had stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Boyette Road before driving into the intersection, according to troopers. A dump truck traveling northbound on Boyette Road “failed to remain stopped” and drove into the intersection and collided with the right side of the bus, the FHP said in a news release. The force of the impact spun bus onto the shoulder of the road. The bus came to rest, tilted slightly to the right, against a line of trees on the side of the road. In addition to the driver, five students from Quail Hollow Elementary School were on the bus. None were injured. The dump truck was being driven by a Tampa man. Alcohol did not play a role in the collision, troopers said.
