Pasco County's Department of Emergency Management is monitoring Tropical Storm Eta and is urging residents to be prepared for the possibility of heavy rain and wind in the coming days.
According to a county press release, West Pasco is under a Tropical Storm Watch until further notice. This means tropical storm force winds are possible in the next 48 hours.
Four self-serve sandbag stations are now open 24 hours, primarily in West Pasco.
- Pasco County Public Works (C-Barn): 30908 Warder Road, San Antonio
- Magnolia Valley Golf Course: 7223 Massachusetts Ave., New Port Richey
- Pasco Fire Rescue Station 17: 2951 Seven Springs Blvd., New Port Richey
- Veterans Memorial Park: 14333 Hicks Road, Hudson
While the stations are open 24 hours a day, sand is restocked between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Residents are asked to bring a shovel and be prepared to fill their own sandbags.
