PORT RICHEY – Port Richey Fire Rescue showed up just in time for a quartet of kittens last week.

Firefighters responded to a home fire in the 9100 block of Hunt Club Lane in Port Richey at about 11 p.m., March 24 and found the residence becoming engulfed in flames and smoke.

Once firefighters from Engine 11 managed to knock down the initial fire they entered the home to extinguish remaining hot spots. While firefighters from Squad 1 were working inside the house, they found four young kittens in a puddle of water. Firefighters removed the kittens and began caring for them.
