BROOKSVILLE — Hernando County has selected Michelle Posewitz as its human resources director. Posewitz, a soon-to-be Hernando County resident, has a bachelor's degree from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and a master's degree from Western Governor's University. She is also a senior certified professional through both SHRM and IPMA-HR.
Posewitz, whose first official day was June 8, has spent the past 19 years working for Sauk County government in Baraboo, Wisconsin, as its human resources director. She has more than 15 years of experience in both public and private sector environments.
"I look forward to working with staff and am excited for the opportunity to serve the Hernando County community," said Posewitz, whose annual salary is $112,008. "I will always be thankful for my time in Sauk County but am eager to begin this new journey here in Hernando."
Posewitz's primary areas of responsibility will be:
• Plan, organize and administer human resource, risk management and workers compensation policies, projects and programs for departments and employees.
• Conduct and direct labor relations and negotiations
• Direct and participate in the hiring, training, evaluating and termination of department personnel; supervise assigned staff directly and indirectly.
