BROOKSVILLE — From Tuesday until Sunday, when Florida Cracker Kitchen is normally open for business, it’s usually swamped. Customers flock to the eatery for amazing food, friendly service, and an atmosphere that feels a bit like home.

It will also feel a lot like Christmas 6-11 p.m. on Dec. 21. A Florida Cracker Christmas, debuting for what will likely be an annual event, promises to pack the house, and not just because of the restaurant’s popularity. To sweeten the deal, the famed country music act the Bellamy Brothers, who are from the Darby area of Pasco County, are headlining a country-themed musical Christmas showcase, with special guest Lance Carpenter.

A portion of ticket sales will support Operation Heart F.E.L.T.

According to the event’s Facebook page, Operation Heart F.E.L.T. is a nonprofit organization with a mission to provide nutritious meals for students and their siblings when school is not in session, weekends, holidays and extended breaks. F.E.L.T. stands for Feeding Empty Little Tummies.

“We believe every child deserves the advantage good nutrition provides to physical, emotional and intellectual development.”

Since its formation in December 2009, Operation Heart F.E.L.T has provided 260,000 meals to Hernando County children and serves an average of 250 students each week.

Florida Cracker Christmas is presented by Frank Miller, a board-certified trial attorney, and sponsored by Patriot Lending Services, Brooksville Chiropractic, Noe’s Lawn Care LLC, Dixie Country Vodka, Walter Services, Erica Summer Relentless 21, Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperatives and radio station 103.9 The Boot.

Tickets for the inaugural event are $10 and can be purchased at Eventbrite.com.
