LUTZ – Florida Highway Patrol troopers arrested 23-year-old Cameron Stephen Frahn on Sunday following a deadly, three-vehicle, drunk-driving accident on State Road 54.

According to reports, the incident occurred at about 4:31 p.m. on westbound S.R. 54, near Oak Grove Boulevard. The location is about a mile and a half west of Tampa Premium Outlets and the I-75 overpass.

Frahn, a Tarpon Springs resident, was driving a pickup truck behind two other vehicles in the inside lane.

The intersection at Oak Grove has a traffic signal, and the vehicles in front of Frahn were a sedan in front and an SUV in between. The SUV, driven by a 63-year-old man from Lutz, and the sedan, driven by a 20-year-old man from Tampa, began to slow down approaching the intersection and other traffic.

Frahn failed to slow down and collided with the rear of the SUV, propelling it into the rear of the sedan, according to FHP. Frahn's pickup truck and the SUV rotated and stopped within the lanes of S.R. 54. The sedan rotated along the outside shoulder.

The driver of the SUV suffered serious injuries and a 79-year-old female passenger from Lutz was killed, dying after being transported to an area hospital. The driver of the sedan sustained minor injuries.

In addition to facing a DUI manslaughter charge, troopers found Frahn to be in possession of 89.5 grams of marijuana and he had a firearm in the pickup during the commission of a felony.
