Bowling 4 Boobs benefit draws 350 participants

Community Nominee event sponsor Gail Wright, center standing, a medical oncologist, took part in the recent Bowling 4 Boobs fundraiser for breast cancer research. Staff and friends representing Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute surround Wright.

NEW PORT RICHEY — About 350 people took part in the 2017 Bowling 4 Boobs event to raise funds for breast cancer research.

West Pasco Business Association staged the 4-year-old event with presenting sponsor John F. McMenamin, Jr. and McMenamin Law Group. All lanes were sold out at Lane Glo South.

The first-place team award went to McMenamin Law Group. Johnny Cool Heating and Air Conditioning took second place, followed by Team Lisa #3 in third place.

“It is such a fun experience, and we are honored that we can support a local person in our community affected financially by breast cancer,” Maria Johnson, director of operations with the association, said in a press release.

A Memory Board, sponsored by AnyCarUSA, allowed bowlers to share photos placed on the bulletin board in memory of a loved one affected by breast cancer.

A photo area also was set up, sponsored by Florida Wellness Medical Group and chiropractor Stephen Unger.

Carrabba’s Port Richey, along with several other local restaurants, donated food for bowling participants and friends.
