HUDSON – A pair of teenagers are in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross State Road 52 on Friday evening.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the teens – one aged 14 and the other 13 – were walking north across S.R. 52 at approximately 6:02 p.m., Dec. 18. The teens were crossing the road despite a red pedestrian signal. An SUV driven by a 53-year-old Hudson woman was heading west on S.R. 52 and had a green light at the intersection with Chicago Avenue when the accident occurred.

The teens, both listed as Port Richey residents, were transported to an area hospital and were listed in critical condition.

The driver of the SUV and a 71-year-old male passenger from Bayonet Point did not report any injuries.
