SPRING HILL – A 40-year-old Hudson woman riding a motorcycle died in a three-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon on County Line Road.
The incident occurred at approximately 1:50 p.m., Dec. 9, according to Florida Highway Patrol reports. The motorcyclist was traveling westbound on County Line Road, approaching Spring Time Street, as a 50-year-old woman from Spring Hill was driving an SUV southbound on Spring Time Street. Another vehicle, a pickup truck operated by a 46-year-old New Port Richey man, was stopped facing eastbound on County Line Road, waiting to turn left onto Spring Time Street.
Reports state that the woman in the SUV failed to stop at the intersection’s stop sign before getting onto County Line Road, colliding with the motorcyclist. The motorcycle and operator were propelled into the front of the pickup truck, causing fatal injuries.
The 50-year-old woman driving the SUV, Frida Charlene Ross, fled the scene of the crash, but was located by FHP troopers at her residence on Spring Time Street.
