The Sears at Gulf View Square has again avoided closure. The retail chain announced Aug. 23 it is closing another 46 stores.

Struggling retailer Sears Holdings announced Aug. 23 that it is closing another 46 Sears stores. The latest batch of closings comes on the heels of 100 announced in January and another 100 in May. As the sign above its west-side entrance still correctly proclaims, however, the Sears at Gulf View Square, in Port Richey, has once again dodged the closure bullet. The store on Cortez Boulevard, in Brooksville, was also not on the Aug. 23 closure list. Elsewhere on the Suncoast, the Sears at University Mall in Tampa was on the latest closure list, while the store at Westfield Countryside Mall, in Clearwater, was on the previous list.
