Capt. Jeremey M. Davis, Florida National Guard, Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 2nd Battalion 116th Field Artillery, Lakeland, has been promoted to major. Davis is a New Port Richey resident. Army Pfc. Christopher S. Thompson graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. Thompson is the son of Daniel Thompson and brother of Jen Thompson, both of Hudson. Air Force Airman 1st Class Steven-Ray M. Owens graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio.
Owens, son of Shannon Owens of Port Richey, is a 2012 graduate of River Ridge High School. Marine Corps Pfc. Alexus V. Bravo, daughter of Angel L. Vargas of Trinity, graduated from recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C. Bravo is a 2012 graduate of Walter L. Sickles High School, Tampa. Marine Corps Pvt. Christian G. Curtis graduated from the Marine Corps Basic Combat Engineer Course at Marine Corps Engineer School, Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, N.C. Curtis received instruction in the fundamentals of engineering support for combat units, including the procedures for building and repairing bridges, roads and field fortifications, during the five-week course. He also received training on demolition concepts, land mine warfare and camouflage techniques. Curtis, a 2012 graduate of Anclote High School, is the son of Candace L. Aster of Holiday and Christopher D. Curtis of Rockport, Texas. Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Ryan J. Carlson, who has served in the military for one year, graduated from the U.S. Navy’s Nuclear Power School at Naval Nuclear Power Training Command, Goose Creek, S.C. Carlson, son of Patricia Carlson of New Port Richey and Kirk Carlson of Mount Sterling, Ill., is a 2008 graduate of Dunedin High School.
